Lessons Over the Course of a Lifetime of Death.

Two years ago, I was asked to speak at my class reunion. I just tripped across what I shared, and feel it is most poignant for this time. So I am sharing.
It applies to us ALL right now.

Over the course of my lifetime, I have had many experiences that have certainly opened my eyes. I would say….”I am lucky”. But “luck” has nothing to do with it.

We each are here for a reason. We need to pay attention, – because we each have valuable lessons to learn.
This is what I have learned and what I want to share with you…..about my story.
Never take for granted one day, one hour, or one minute. For there are no guarantees in life.
Listen to what truly makes YOU happy.
Be bold. Be brave…and say YES!
Guaranteed….You will get lemons. And you will be the one to choose if they make your life sour or if they are used to nourish you with the gift of lemonade.
No one is perfect. Myself included.
Listen and truly see others in front of you.
We have no idea what another person is going through. So….be kind. Treat them as you want to be treated. And if words escape you? A heartfelt hug can speak any language. For sometimes no words are needed.
Identify those moments that make you sing inside. Follow those leads and YOUR life will be filled with happiness.
Be prepared to look for silver linings. No matter how unexpected or sad or unbearable it may seem at that moment….there is a blessing in store…..If you are open to it!
Material things are just that. Material.
They can be lost in the blink of an eye, and you still….have the memories.
Every one of us is creative. We need to find out what that means for ourselves, value it, embrace it and….do it!
No one can be forced to be happy. No one can “make” someone happy. Only YOU are in the drivers seat of your own happiness. Not their happiness. Only….yours.
Be Grateful.
One of my greatest lessons over the course of this last year….When our loved ones cross over, they are still here with us. We just need to listen for them. They are at our side. Always. With us when we fall, and with us when we get back up. Cheering us on. To be good people. To do what we love. And to live and love completely. In the moment. They remind us that “now” is all there is.
I am blessed to be here, learning and living with reckless abandon and I am dancing this life – like no one is watching.

Living fully – carving a life,
